Rainy Day Brew Review- Sketchbook Brewery by Samantha Aycock
The springtime has brought Chicago plenty of rain this year! While we had a gorgeous Memorial Day Weekend, many of our weekends have been spent huddled inside- which is not easy to do with active kids. A few weekends ago, we made the best of it and had a lot of fun! We built towers with Magnatiles, drummed on pots and pans and even made a family dinner- spaghetti & meatballs! Pro tip for cooking with a 4 and 2 year old: have a drink. Or two. It makes the spilled spaghetti sauce on the couch and the Troll dropped in the ground beef way less of an issue.
We happened to have a bottle of Sketchbook Brewery’s Night Game on hand- and it was such a delicious treat for a rainy Friday! It’s bold yet balanced, easy on the malt and heavy on the hops. And fun fact: the 8.8% ABV douple IPA was named for the date the Chicago Cubs played their first night game- August 8! Night Game is available in bottles and on tap at Sketchbook Brewery, located at 821 Chicago Ave. in Evanston, IL.
