T-Shirts and Calculators: Brewery Reviewery- Noonwhistle Brewing, Lombard, IL by Samantha Aycock
St. Patrick’s day is this Friday and breweries around the nation are gearing up to introduce some of their finest beers. Here in Chicago, if you aren’t dying the river green, braving the crazy city life, or participating in the Shamrock Shuffle, you definitely want to check out Noon Whistle Brewing in Lombard, IL. This past weekend we stopped in to visit with Noon Whistle and knew right away that this place is sure to be serving up some of the tastiest brews for our favorite Irish holiday.
We enjoyed Swanky Smack – a crisp, fruity red cider. The Parker, a dry hop wit that was simply delicious, was loved by all. But our group’s favorite beer of the afternoon was Magie Noire, a mosaic black saison. It was dark and toasty, full of flavor and love.
On March 16, Noon Whistle will have their scotch ale High Falutin on tap as well as Da percolator, which is made with local coffee shop, River City Roasters coffee. Not to mention (ahem, to mention) visiting this fine establishment on St. Patrick’s day will be everyone’s favorite grilled cheese food truck,Toasty Cheese!
These glorious masterpieces pair well with Noon Whistle’s Bob Ross Did It, a heaven hill barrel aged scotch ale, that will be on tap for St. Paddy’s day!
