Coffee Beer and Donuts 2018

Coffee Beer and Donuts 2018

When our clients do great things, you can be sure we will brag about it.  This past Sunday’s event was no exception.  Our friends Emily, John, and Paul over at Skeleton Key Brewery put together an awesome event to raise awareness and funds to fight human trafficking.  With the help of over 80 generous donors, Skeleton Key raised $3400 for C.A.A.S.E (Chicago Alliance Against Sex Trafficking).

The details: not only was a ton of money raised, the event was absolutely killer.  Four breweries, Black Horizon, Metal Monkey, Miskatonic, and Skeleton Key and two coffee roasteries, Old Man Murph’s Coffee Roasters and Ten Drops Coffee, and 1 bakery, bB’s Baby Donuts, donated their time, beverages, and donuts to make this event happen.  While coffee was served from 11-12, there was some nice live music and people gathered.  There was a short presentation by C.A.A.S.E with some intense facts about the reality of sex trafficking in our local area.  After the presentation, Emily, from Skeleton Key, was able to present a check to C.A.A.S.E, for which they were very grateful.  Then the coffee beer and donut pairing began.

Let me tell you, these breweries brought their “A” game when it comes to making a coffee beer.  And the way they were able to pair them with the donuts was truly remarkable.  It was hard to choose, but my personal favorite was Miskatonic’s, “Innkeeper,” a Buckwheat Dunkelweisen w/ coffee, paired with a chocolate- covered strawberry donut: the flavors were a match made in heaven.

Overall, the event was just lovely.  Props to Skeleton Key for hosting and to all the breweries that donated both their time and beer to make this event truly wonderful.  Lance CPA Group can’t wait until next year when there will hopefully be more beer and of course, more donuts!
