The Team Behind Your Tax Return

Tax Season

With tax season well underway, our tax team knows a thing or two about making it through long work days (and occasional nights)!  Meet: Josh, Jenni, and Saima:

Josh Lance, Managing Director

What are your tax season survival necessities?

Lots of coffee and spending time with my family on the weekends

When you’re not in Taxland what do you do with your time?

I go on vacation and take trips, or go to sporting events like the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Fire.

Your go-to takeout food choice when there’s no time to cook?

I like street tacos from our local Mexican restaurant.

The TV show you won’t miss no matter how busy you are?

I think I am in my fourth or fifth time around watching The Office, so that is my go-to after a long day at work in order to relax.

Tax Manager

Jenni Hughes, Tax Manager

What are your tax season survival necessities?

Coffee, my office heater, and ways to let off steam like going on google hangouts with the team

When you’re not in Taxland what do you do with your time?

I watch my daughter Megan at basketball tournaments, relax on the couch watching mindless TV, and have coffee with friends that don’t want to talk about tax.

Your go-to takeout food choice when there’s no time to cook?

I live in a small town, so there are not a lot of takeout choices.  Usually a good Fish Fry is our go-to.

The TV show you won’t miss no matter how busy you are?

During the day, I keep the Today show and Live with Kelly and Ryan on in the background.  I also listen to the Ryan Seacrest Radio show; I love Ryan Seacrest. Currently we are binging the entire series of The Walking Dead.  I also won’t miss watching The Voice with Megan and my husband, Mike.

Tax Accountant

Saima Uribe, Tax Accountant

What are your tax season survival necessities?

Daily calls with my family or friends, things to make me laugh (honestly that is in tax season and out, but more crucial in tax), and coffee!

When you’re not in Taxland what do you do with your time?

I spend it at wrestling tournaments watching my kids since taxes are smack dab in the middle of wrestling season.

Your go-to takeout food choice when there’s no time to cook?

Pizza!  Probably not the best when I’m not even moving during tax season. I should have said Subway but I didn’t want to lie.

The TV show you won’t miss no matter how busy you are?

I always put on Bravo TV Real Housewives in the background as I’m working because it’s like white noise for me.  I don’t have to super pay attention, but I can still follow along by listening.

About Lindsay Pastorino

Being organized and a bit of a clean freak, Lindsay's idea of a good time is cleaning out her closets.  We wouldn't even put it past her to “Danny Tanner it” and vacuum her vacuum from time to time!  These traits, however, make her the perfect person for the project manager role.  When she's not keeping things organized, Lindsay enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter.  Lindsay holds degrees from both Illinois State University and Loyola University-Chicago.
