Wooden Hill Brewing Company

Wooden Hill Brewing Company

Over the holiday break my family and I traveled to MN to celebrate Christmas.  My kids and I stayed for the entire week because let’s be honest, during the 2 WEEK break from school, I need all the help I can get.

While my two older kiddos stayed home with the grandparents, our resident firm baby/brewery visitor traveled with me to visit one of our clients up in Edina,MN.  Wooden Hill Brewing Company is slotted for a soft open sometime in February and let me tell you- it’s gonna be great.  Sean and James Ewen got inspired to start their brewery after James received a home brewing kit as a Christmas gift from Sean and his dad.  You can read more about their story here.

The brothers gave us a tour of their new brewery, detailing all the ins and outs of the thoughtful architecture, subtle nods to “the wooden hill,” and their vision from expanding as they inevitably grow.  I was so inspired by them that I practically wanted to start a brewery myself.  Don’t be fooled though- all the gorgeous hardware and crisp paint didn’t come without cost.  These men have put in countless hours doing the hard work of getting things ready to open their doors to the public.

I also got a chance to briefly chat with their mom as well, she stated “It’s hard not to want to tell everyone around how proud I am of my boys.”  Well said mom, well said.

If you are in the MN area and looking for somewhere new, definitely check these guys out and tell them Jamie from Lance CPA Group sent you!  Congrats Wooden Hill- we can’t wait to see what you do!
